Dr. BBQ in St. Petersburg will cure any appetite

ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - A BBQ lover’s dream has become a reality in downtown St. Petersburg.

Along Central Avenue, “Dr. BBQ The Restaurant” has arrived. The chef, Ray Lampe (also known as Dr. BBQ, which is fitting) said he is excited to share some of his favorite recipes with visitors. He has published cookbooks and won competitions. 

The owners behind the popular Datz, Dough and Roux restaurants in South Tampa teamed up with Dr. BBQ to create the concept. 

It’s not all meat, which he smokes on-site. There are 23 vegan options. The downtown restaurant has rustic décor, and a wide selection of bourbon and local craft beer to pair with the sizzling recipes. The full menu can be found here.
