VOLTA by Cirque du Soleil blazes trail to Tampa

If you’ve driven along Interstate 275 just north of downtown Tampa, you may have noticed a giant circus tent.

Inside that tent is VOLTA by Cirque du Soleil, which is the first time in 15 years they have had a show in Tampa under the Big Top, and Volta is their 41st production. Nearly 50 performers from across the globe tell a story about self-acceptance.

Here’s how they describe it, “VOLTA tells a spellbinding story about the freedom to choose and the thrill of blazing your own trail. Inspired in part by the adventurous spirit that fuels the culture of action sports, the show weaves acrobatics in a visually striking world driven by a stirring melodic score. VOLTA is a story of transformation. It is about being true to oneself, fulfilling one’s true potential, and the power of the group to make that possible. It celebrates freedom as a movement.”

They will be in town until March 18th. For tickets, head on over to their website: cirquedusoleil.com.
