Body found in water near downtown St. Pete

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The body of an elderly man was pulled from the water in St. Petersburg, police said.

Police said they are investigating the death in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue NE. They said the man's body was pulled from the water near the seawall behind the St. Petersburg Museum of History. 

HIs body was removed around 7:20 a.m. The man was not identified.

The cause of death is still under investigation.
