6-year-old nephew of fallen Florida officer 'sworn in'
KISSIMMEE, Fla. (FOX 13) - The young nephew of a fallen Kissimmee police officer was “sworn in” to become an officer himself.
Enzo Russell, who is six years old, took the oath and was sworn by the Kissimmee Police Chief Jeff O’Dell on Wednesday. The police agency shared video of the ceremony showing Enzo standing before the chief with a photo of his uncle behind him.
Enzo is the nephew of Sergeant Sam Howard, who was killed in the line of duty in August 2017. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Howard was 36 and was killed after responding as back-up to a fellow officer, Matthew Baxter. Both were shot and killed.
Enzo took the oath on his birthday.
