Time lapse shows Hurricane Irma roaring ashore in Naples
NAPLES, Fla. - A resident in Naples captured the power of Hurricane Irma as it roared into Florida on September 10.
Ryan Potter mounted a camera out in front of his home and captured the storm moving over his neighborhood.
The family had evacuated to north Florida before the storm, but the time lapse shows the storm moving through as a Category 3 storm, followed by the calm as the eye passed over, and then, incredibly, the winds shifting in the other direction as the back side of the storm moved through. "Pretty incredible to see," Potter's wife, Kristen, said.
Potter says there were a lot of trees down and pool enclosures damaged, but overall, the neighborhood fared well.
