Court documents released Thursday show the driver of the Mustang accused of hitting and killing a young woman and toddler was going much faster along Bayshore Blvd. than previously thought.

18-year-old Cameron Herrin was arrested and charged with two counts of vehicular homicide after police say he hit and killed 24-year-old Jessica Raubenolt and her daughter while street racing with another vehicle along Bayshore Blvd. in South Tampa May 23.

Court documents show that evidence obtained from the Mustang show the Mustang was traveling 102 miles an hour at the time of the crash. Witnesses had initially said the vehicles were going about 60 miles an hour before observing them accelerate as they raced down Bayshore.

The speed limit, was 40 miles an hour on Bayshore at the time of the crash. City leaders lowered the speed limit to 35 miles per hour two days after the crash.

Mayor Bob Buckhorn said crosswalks between Bay to Bay Blvd. and downtown Tampa will be installed over the summer.

The driver of the other vehicle, 17-year-old John Barrineau, is also facing vehicular homicide, and both drivers are facing street racing charges. A third person, 20-year-old Tristan Herrin, who was a passenger in the Mustang, was also arrested and charged with street racing.

Cameron Herrin was granted a $50,000 bond last weekend and released from jail. He has been prohibited from driving, ordered to wear a GPS monitoring bracelet and surrender his passport. He is also prohibited from having any contact with Barrineau.

Raubenolt was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after the accident. Her 21-month-old daughter, Lillia Raubenolt, who was in the stroller as the pair crossed Bayshore, died a few days later.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to assist the family.
