Fire damages Seminole car dealership
SEMINOLE (FOX 13) - An early morning fire at a car dealership could have worse if it weren't for the quick actions of employees and fire codes.
The fire occurred at the Suncoast Chrysler located at 8755 Park Boulevard in Seminole. Two employees arrived at work at 6 a.m. on Friday and said the two golf carts caught fire. They called 911 and Seminole Fire Rescue as well as surrounding agencies responded.
There were no reported injuries, and the fire is not believed to be suspicious. The skeleton of the golf carts and other charred materials were left behind.
There were reports of explosions, but firefighters said that it not uncommon when dealing with a fire with cars and an auto shop. Items such as gasoline and lubricants could explode, as well as tires when there is enough heat.
Firefighters said the appropriate fire codes were in place, such as two fire walls to stop the flames from spreading.
