Purse-snatching victim dragged by suspect's car in Walmart parking lot, police say
LARGO (FOX 13) - Largo police say officers have located two women suspected of robbing another woman in a wheelchair at a Walmart parking lot.
Surveillance video captured the crime, and was released by the Largo Police Department on Tuesday. The incident took place at the Walmart on Roosevelt Boulevard on July 8.
In the video, a blue 2017 Hyundai Elantra is seen stopping in the parking lot when a woman in a motorized wheelchair goes by. A female suspect jumps out of the car, and grabs the victim’s purse, and gets back inside the vehicle.
The victim is seen trying to retrieve her purse, but was partially dragged by the car and fell. She has serious injuries, police said. The Florida tag for the suspect vehicle is JHMU55.
Police have identified the suspects as 36-year-old Tanesha Gary and 39-year-old Shanan Diaz. Police described Gary as a career offender and Diaz has active felony warrant out of Lee County.
