Special Ops teams 'invade' Tampa for demonstration
TAMPA (FOX 13) - Tampa was invaded today, and it’s not Gasparilla pirates. Instead, some of the world’s most elite warfighters put on a demonstration of their abilities as part of a military conference downtown.

The Special Operations Forces Industry Conference is taking place this week at the Tampa Convention Center. It’s a chance for military thinkers and vendors to meet with each other and talk equipment, tactics, and politics.
Back in 2016, Mayor Bob Buckhorn was ‘rescued’ as part of the demonstration, famously firing blanks from a .50-caliber machine gun aboard his rescue boat.
Today’s demonstration was similar to that one, with the mayor reprising his role and helicopters and ships speeding through downtown outside the convention center.
