Tigris, Florida's tallest launch roller coaster, opens this month at Busch Gardens
TAMPA, Fla. - Get ready, thrill seekers! Busch Gardens is officially opening its newest roller coaster later this month.
The new attraction named "Tigris" will be Florida's tallest launch coaster and the park's ninth roller coaster. A 10th ride is also in the works and is expected to open in 2020.
"Tigris will catapult riders through an exhilarating array of looping twists with forward and backward motion, breath-taking drops, a 150-foot skyward surge, and an inverted heartline roll, reaching a top speed of more than 60 miles per hour," Busch Gardens said in a statement.
The triple-launch coaster will race riders along over 1,800 feet of steel track, park officials said.
Tigris is scheduled to open April 19.
