Weeki Wachee mermaids make temporary move to Sea Life Orlando Aquarium

The iconic Weeki Wachee mermaids are moving to Orlando’s only aquarium, but it’s only temporary.

The mermaids will do their underwater performances every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from September 28 through October 21, while the facility in Weeki Wachee Springs State Park undergoes renovations.

This will the first time the mermaids have performed in Orlando in the park’s 70-year history.

Mermaid performances at Sea Life Orlando Aquarium, located along International Drive, will start on the top of every hour from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday-Sunday, with meet-and-greets available all day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Mermaid dives and meet-and-greets are included with the cost of regular admission to Sea Life Orlando Aquarium. For more information, visit www.visitsealife.com/orlando.

Sea Life Orlando Aquarium General Manager James Paulding said they are excited to offer their visitors a new experience.

“Creating an immersive and magical underwater escape for our guests where they can interact with thousands of sea creatures is something that we really take pride in,” Paulding said. “We are so excited to build onto that experience further by hosting the famous mermaids from Weeki Wachee Springs State Park inside our aquarium for the first time ever.”
