Woman and her dog escape boat fire on Alafia River
RIVERVIEW, Fla. - Flames took over a boat early Thursday morning, and a woman escaped with her dog and burns to her elbow, authorities said.
The boat is a total loss, officials said. They said the female and dog swam away from the boat. The boat fire took place on Alafia River near Williams Park Boat Ramp in Riverview.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
