ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - A local community-based arts organization is taking its next project global.
The Outdoor Arts Foundation has created projects for Tampa Bay in the past, including the large painted turtle statues in 2000, manatees in 2006 and decorated elephants for the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa.
Now, they are creating doghouses for a special outdoor display in London. There are 90 different artists and architects from five different continents who are decorating the doghouses in order to bring awareness for Blue Cross for Pets in England.
Tons of Tile donated, well, tons of tile, to the foundation for this project. Before the final products head overseas, they will be on display in Westshore Plaza from September 18 to November 30. Charley went to see how the progress is going.
