10-time convicted felon arrested again, accused of firing shots during dispute: PCPD

A man with 10 felony convictions on his record is in trouble again, this time facing charges after Plant City police say he opened fire during a dispute earlier this month.

According to investigators, Michael Davis, 26, fired shots on Dec. 11, then took off. No one was hit.

Officers pulled over Davis minutes later along Wheeler Street and took him into custody.

Police found a loaded 9mm handgun after stopping Davis, PCPD said.

Court records show Davis was previously convicted of crimes including written threats to kill, burglary, and possession and sale of a controlled substance.

In the latest case, Davis faces the following charges:

  • Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
  • Alteration of firearm serial number
  • Felon in possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony
  • Possession of cannabis (more than 20 grams)
