CLEARWATER, Fla. - Two people are recovering in the hospital after an early morning fire destroyed a home in Clearwater.
Crews responded and found flames shooting out of the home along Franklin St. around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to Clearwater Fire & Rescue.

Additional firefighters were called to the scene to prevent the flames from spreading to other nearby homes, officials said.
Two people were taken to the hospital for evaluation. No further details on their condition were released.
There's no word from officials on what may have caused the fire.
