2 injured in Citrus County plane crash, deputies say
HERNANDO, Fla. - A man and a woman are recovering after surviving a plane crash in Citrus County on Sunday.
According to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, a single-engine plane struck a tree near a home as it was landing in Hernando.
Investigators say the two people on board suffered minor injuries.
A spokesperson for the sheriff's office says the plane was practicing landing techniques, when the wing clipped a tree, then causing the plane to crash into more trees and then land on the ground. She added that there was some fuel leaking from the plane.
The pair was taken to Ocala Regional Hospital for treatment.
