AMARILLO, Texas - The Amarillo Police Department said its SWAT officers shot and killed a shooting suspect at a Walmart. Hostages inside were safe and there were no apparent shooting victims.
The incident was reported at a Walmart. The department sent tweets starting around 12:30 p.m. EST about the possible shooting.
According to Fox News, the Amarillo Police Department said in a statement, "Please avoid the area so that officers can focus on the scene and not traffic."
Local media outlets reported that police said there was an "active shooter situation" at the Walmart and hostages had possibly been taken.
