Blue Angels fly over Naval Academy graduation Friday
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (FOX 13) - The Navy Blue Angels performed a flyover above graduating U.S. Naval Academy midshipmen during the Academy's graduation and commissioning ceremony in Annapolis, MD Friday, May 26.
Vice President Mike Pence delivered remarks at the US Naval Academy Graduation. Vice President Pence, the father of a current US Marine, spoke during the Commissioning Ceremony in Annapolis.
A little over 1,000 midshipmen graduated.
Vice President Pence told the graduates they are, "extraordinary young Americans" who will continue the Naval Service's tradition of keeping the country safe.
"Today marks the end of four years of training in the United States Naval Academy...and the commencement of a voyage that will take you into uncharted waters,” the vice president said. “Make no mistake, have no doubt--you are ready to lead. The training and education you've received here has prepared you well for the challenges that lie ahead...because today you graduate from an incomparable institution.”
President Trump meanwhile delivered the commencement address at the US Coast Guard Academy.
