Boat crash in St. Pete leaves 1 dead, 2 injured
ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - Authorities are investigating a deadly boat crash that happened in St. Petersburg Friday night.
According to the Coast Guard, two boats carrying five people collided shortly before 10 p.m. The crash happened in Bayboro Harbor and very close to Coast Guard station's pier.
Coast Guardsmen heard the collision and were able to quickly make contact with the injured boaters. St. Pete Fire Rescue and Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission also responded to the scene.
Officials said one boater was pronounced deceased, and a second boater is in critical condition. A third boater suffered minor injuries and two others were not injured.
FWC is the agency investigating the crash. The victims have not been identified.
