Bobcat chases squirrel on top of Punta Gorda patio

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (FOX 13) - Cats are notorious for climbing things, but this was no ordinary cat.

Michelle Kloese captured video of a bobcat on top of her home's screened-in patio in Punta Gorda on Sunday morning.

"Woke up to a bobcat chasing a squirrel on our lanai screen!" Kloese wrote in the video's caption on Facebook.

The squirrel evaded capture by jumping off the screen onto the ground, then ran up a tree -- only to be quickly followed by the cat.

Though the bobcat did show off its agility and impressive jumpking skills, Kloese said the squirrel did manage to get away high up in the tree.
