Convicted felon fires shots at Brooksville adult living community bus: HCSO

A convicted felon and a resident of a Brooksville adult living community fired several shots at a facility bus on Tuesday, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened at Hillendale Cares facility after investigators say that the bus driver said he could not give the suspect, Mckenzi Finn, a ride to the store.

The driver told Finn that he was already committed to driving another resident and staff told him to clean his room while they found another way to transport him.

HCSO says a short time later as the bus driver was leaving the facility, Finn came out of the garage and fired three shots in the direction of the bus before running back inside.

The bus driver was not injured, and the bus did not sustain any damage.

A search warrant was issued and detectives located the gun hidden in a common-area bathroom. Ammunition was also located in Finn's bedroom.

  • Two counts of Aggravated Assault
  • Discharging a Firearm in Public
  • Tampering with Evidence
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon

Finn was transported to the Hernando County Detention Center and his bond is set at $26,000.
