Car involved in deadly hit-and-run on I-275 found in Manatee County: FHP
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Florida Highway Patrol says the Tesla that was involved in a hit-and-run that killed a man days ago in St. Petersburg has been found in Manatee County.

What we know:
According to FHP, a 37-year-old Lakeland man was changing a tire along the shoulder on the southbound side of I-275 near 4th St. North around 8:20 p.m. last Friday when another car hit him. He later died at the hospital.

The driver took off, troopers said, and investigators later identified the car as a black 2024 Tesla Model X.

FHP said the car was found parked outside a Manatee County home.

What we don't know:
No other details were released on where exactly the car was found or who may have been driving at the time of the hit-and-run.
FHP also did not release the victim's name.
