Caught on Camera: Teen attempts to cat-nap feline from porch
LINCOLN, NE (WTXF) - A man's security camera caught the moment a teen attempted to take his cat lounging on his porch. The incident happened in Lincoln, Nebraska.
On Wednesday, 8-year-old Mo was getting some fresh air on the porch when a stranger is seen enticing the cat. Moments later, the girl grabs the cat and takes off towards a car. Little did she know, Mo wasn't going down without a fight.
The feisty feline flew out of the girl's arms and ran back to the porch where the ordeal began. Mo was unharmed during the incident. Mo's owner Samuel Evertson says he has three other cats and believes Mo is the only one who would have escaped.
Evertson may never have known what happened if he had not received an alert on his phone about some movement on his front porch. That's when he saw the video of Mo's daring escape.
Lincoln police say someone saw the video on the news and believed the girl was their neighbor. Officers contacted a 17-year-old girl and her mother regarding the attempted theft. The 17-year-old told police she was dared by a friend to steal the cat but did not intend to keep it. The girl's mom says she will have her daughter apologize to Mo's owner.
