Check your mail: A $100 check may be among your Valpak coupons

ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - Those Valpak coupons you receive every once in a while may now come with a $100 check, the St. Petersburg-based company announced.
It might sound too good to be true, but Valpak says otherwise. Certain envelopes, for consumers across the country, will have real checks worth $100. They promise there are no strings attached.
The checks will be placed in marked Valpak envelopes every month in 2018 to celebrate the company's 50th anniversary, according to a press release. Valpak has been giving away the checks since 1998 in certain markets, but this is the first time checks will be given out in all of its 150 markets.
According to FOX 17, only 8 checks in Grand Rapids, Michigan were cashed out of the 36 sent out in 2017.
