Citrus County woman charged with sexual battery, human trafficking
INVERNESS, Fla. - On Friday, U.S. Marshals arrested Kristin Jarvis, after they say she had sex with a teenager while working as a para-professional at Silver River Mentoring and Instruction, a private company that operates the Renaissance Center located in Lecanto.
According to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, the victim told detectives they had sex several times at multiple locations throughout the county between August 2018 and January 2019 when the victim was 17 years old.
"Unfortunately, Jarvis used the trust placed in her because of her position to prey upon a vulnerable juvenile," said Sheriff Mike Prendergast. "The Citrus County Sheriff's Office will continue to do everything in our power to take predators like Jarvis off the streets. By working with our partners at the State Attorney's Office, we will hopefully help the victim find peace, and give the citizens a sense of safety".
Jarvis is being held without bond at the Citrus County Jail and is facing charges of sexual battery by an authority figure, sexual battery by a custodial authority, human trafficking, traveling to meet a minor, child neglect, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
