ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - A man who spent eight hours in the water off Egmont Key is back on dry land.
Members of the Coast Guard received a call about a man in the water near the Sunshine Skyway around 12 a.m. on Sunday.
It took members of the Coast Guard, and a crew from St. Petersburg Fire Rescue about four and a half hours to find the 22-year-old man near Egmont Key.

Officials say he had been in the water for about eight hours after being dragged by a barge.
Rescue crews say the man was alert and conscious.
He was taken to an area hospital where his condition is unknown.
