ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (FOX 13) - The construction workers across the way from Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg brought some much-needed smiles to the children who can't be home for the holidays.
Operating a large crane, the workers at Skanksa, who are constructing a new research and education center across from the infusion center where children get treatments, hoisted Santa's giant sled full of presents onto the hospital's roof where children waited and cheered.

The Skanska crew members brought bag after bag after bag full of thousands of toys to the children after holding a massive toy drive.
On Fridays, the construction workers also have dance parties where the children dance and wave to the workers through window and the workers dance and wave back.
The new research center is expected to be completed in mid-2018. Until then, the construction crew looks forward to continuing their relationship with their little friends across the street.
