Cooler weather on tap for Bay Area until weekend warmup, then another cooldown
TAMPA, Fla. - More weather changes are on the way to the Tampa Bay area as a cold front that brought rain on Monday night will lead to lower temperatures again over the next few days.
Another warmup is coming, though – followed by more cool air behind that.
What to expect
By the numbers: FOX 13 Meteorologist Dave Osterberg says Tuesday's high will top out around the mid-60s – several degrees below Tampa's average high of 71 – despite plenty of sunshine.
Highs will top out in the 60s across most of the Bay Area on Tuesday, meteorologists say.
Osterberg says the big reason for that is the return of the north wind, bringing cooler air our way.
"You'd think with all that sunshine, we'd go right back up into the 70s, but the cold air wins this battle," Osterberg said.
The return of the north wind is bringing cooler air back to the Bay Area, according to meteorologists.
The cooling trend continues through Wednesday with highs in the 60s and morning lows falling back into the 40s.
Then by Thursday, Osterberg says a "tiny disturbance" will move across Florida, bringing more cloud cover and a small chance of showers.
Clouds will move over the Bay Area by Thursday, meteorologists say.
Temperatures shouldn't warm up past the 60s, though, for the rest of the work week.
What's next: By the weekend, highs will return to the low-to-mid 70s before our front moves in, with rain likely on Sunday and another cooldown by Monday.
More changes are on the way over the next week, including fluctuating temperatures and rain chances.
