Crash involving semi-truck causes cooking oil spill, blocks traffic for hours on I-75 in Sarasota County
SARASOTA, Fla. - A crash involving a semi-truck caused hundreds of gallons of cooking oil to spill and snarled traffic for hours on I-75 in Sarasota County on Friday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the semi-truck and another truck crashed shortly after 6:30 a.m. Friday on the northbound side near the Fruitville Rd. exit.

The investigation and cleanup caused extensive delays for hours during the morning rush. All northbound lanes reopened by 10 a.m.
FHP has not released details on whether anyone was injured or what may have caused the crash.
