Deputies arrest suspect in Pasco stabbing death

PORT RICHEY (FOX 13) - Pasco County deputies arrested a suspect they said stabbed two people late Thursday morning, killing one of them.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office says the victims, a man and a woman, were stabbed at a Park Place Apartments unit, located in the 9200 block of Binnacle Drive, shortly after 11 a.m.

"I was in the living room and I heard this big, humongous scream and I ran out the door and I saw this man in the next building over laying on the ground, covered in blood," said Patricia Rogers.

The woman, identified as Asia Spencer, 22, was in stable condition and being treated for her injuries.

Neighbors said Asia, bleeding profusely, went door-to-door looking for help.

"To find out that she came to our door for help, that's a little bit more frightening," said Lily Colina, who lives the apartment attached to Asia's.

Another neighbor, James Briggs, said she came to his door next.

"It was just shocking that as soon as I opened up the door, I could see the big ol' gashes on her throat and she's bleeding from getting stabbed in the abdomen," he said, adding he tried to calme her down. "I didn't want her to bleed out."

They went back to her apartment, where the other victim, identified by deputies as Kenneth Martiszus, 29, lay dying. Severaly neighbors tried to help, but he died at the scene.

It took about 90 minutes for investigators to track down the suspect, whose identity has not yet been released.

Several of the victims' friends arrived hours later, unaware of what happened.

"They're very good people. They're very sweet, just too young to die like that," said Nicole DiGuilio. "It's just a shame that stuff like that happens. We drove in to come say hit to them and we never expected this. They were really, really good people. They didn't deserve this."

Friends, who called Kenneth "K.C.," said his girlfriend rents the apartment, but she was already at work; they believe K.C. was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"We just moved here two months ago and they were like the only friends we pretty much had here," said Julio DiGuilio.

"They guy who did it, he's going to rot," added John DiGuilio. "You took a good soul and, you know what? You're going to pay for it."

Detectives were questioning the suspect late Thursday afternoon and are trying to determine a motive.
