Hillsborough County officials are investigating an incident involving a car that struck a house.

The investigation is happening in the 11900 block of Whispercreek Drive in Riverview.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said it appears a teenage driver was speeding and lost control of her Nissan Rogue. She drove through a stop sign, a fence, a palm tree, into the back porch area of the house and through the sliding glass doors. The vehicle came to a final stop halfway through the living room.

People were home at the time and heard the bang. The occupants said after the teenage girl crashed the car into the back of the home, she walked to the front door and knocked.

"She was apologizing and obviously upset," said Brian, who is renting the home.

Mary, the homeowner, said the accident could have been a lot worse, considering there weren't any serious injuries.

"This can be repaired," she said.

SkyFOX aerials showed debris on top of the Rogue's hood and surrounding the vehicle itself.

The driver had minor injuries, according to the agency, and there doesn't appear to be any structural damage to the home.
