Early-morning fire damages mobile home in Lakeland

LAKELAND, Fla. - A fire damaged a mobile home on Thursday morning in Lakeland.

The fire broke out just after 5 a.m. at a home on Elizabeth Street.

Investigators say someone in the home had gone outside to smoke a cigarette when they noticed a spark then flames and got everyone out of the home safely.

The American Red Cross is helping the family.
