An 81-year-old Tampa man was found with head injuries in the backyard of his home Wednesday and police are looking for the man they believe attacked him, and then stole his car.

Police said Alfred Watton was found with serious upper body injuries in the backyard of his home around 6:30 p.m. Some of his property was missing, including his car, a 2014 red Kia Sedona.

His family told FOX 13 News Watton was under sedation in the intensive care unit Thursday evening.

Police identified a person of interest in the case, 47-year-old Carlos Alberto Cordero. Family said Cordero is the last person to be seen with Watton.

Cordero was described as 6' 2" tall and weighing between 180-190 pounds. The Florida license tag number of the missing vehicle is Z4SWC.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Cordero or the car is urged to contact Tampa police at 813-309-0490.

Family members said Watton is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a retired teacher and counselor.
