Embrace your bald head and reap the benefits

Going bald? That could be a good thing. Losing your hair should never mean losing your confidence.

According to a study at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, men with bald scalps are perceived to be more masculine and dominant than their thick- or thin-haired brethren. They’re even distinguished as having better leadership potential.

The American Hair Loss Association says that, by age 35, two-thirds of men in the U.S. experience some loss of hair. By age 50, 85 percent of men have significantly thinning ‘dos.

Some have likened it to going through a second puberty, but it doesn’t have to be awkward at all.

Men with bald heads may look a bit older initially, but since they don’t have any hair to turn gray, they often look more youthful as they age. In the study, men with shaved heads were also perceived as an inch taller and close to 13 percent stronger. Thank you Dwayne Johnson.

You might be tempted to hide your remaining tresses under a ball cap, but we say embrace it! It’s your head, so you “do” you.
