FarmFetch gets fresh local products from farms to consumers

FarmFetch makes the connection between farmers and consumers who want local products convenient.

Janelle Dowling is one of the customers picking up a bag of fresh fruits and vegetables from the Sunshine Center in St. Petersburg as part of a service called FarmFetch.

"I have some lettuce to make a salad with some really healthy microgreens. I've got an onion. I love using the lemons for my avocado toast. I've got some cabbage for some soup," shared Dowling.

"We enable consumers to get local and fresh produce directly from farms and local businesses," explained Kishor Vaswani, the Co-Founder & CEO of FarmFetch.

Once a customer orders their items online, FarmFetch collects them from farms and businesses, bags them and then brings them to the center for pick-ups on Thursday afternoons.

"For the farms, it gives them a channel to go directly to the consumer. The produce that they're producing is consumed more efficiently and wastage is reduced in the system," said Vaswani.

Customers can place orders online and then pick up orders at the Sunshine Center in St. Petersburg.

It's a convenient way to get locally grown food for a reasonable cost. 

"I probably spend $15 to $20 a week, so the prices are actually really great. It's just really nice to be able to get produce directly from the farm," shared Dowling.
