The search has intensified for a 9-year-old girl who was the subject of an AMBER Alert.

Diana Alvares' alleged abductor, 28-year-old Jorge Guerrero was captured Saturday, June 4, but Diana was not with him

On Wednesday, the Polk County Sheriff's Office said deputies from its office, as well as deputies from Lee County, joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the search for the little girl near SR 60 and Grape Hammock Rd. in Lake Wales. The location is near River Ranch Westgate Resort in eastern Polk County. The search focused there based on pings from Guerrero's cell phone.

According to WINK News, Diana disappeared from her Lee County home in the early morning, the day after Memorial Day.

Diana's mother went to bed and, when she woke up, her daughter was gone. Four days later, the case met the criteria to issue an AMBER Alert. Two days later, Guerrero's vehicle was found and he was arrested. He was held by federal officials and charged in connection to child pornography.

Federal documents also referenced cell phone pings in Lee and Osceola counties. Sheriff's offices in those counties were following up - searching remote areas where Guerrero may have been.
