FHP: Drunk driver crashed into back of patrol car
WESLEY CHAPEL (FOX 13) - The Florida Highway Patrol says a man driving drunk crashed into the back of an FHP cruiser early Sunday morning.
It happened near the intersection of State Road 54 and Vandine Road in Wesley Chapel. Troopers say 25-year-old Kyran Pittner was driving a 2002 Chevy Corvette when he hit the back of the FHP cruiser. The cruiser was unoccupied at the time - parked with its lights on, as the trooper responded to help clear up a previous crash scene.
Troopers say Pittner was arrested and delivered to the Pasco County Jail where he provided a breath sample with a blood alcohol level of 0.177, more than twice the legal limit.
He's facing multiple charges including DUI, DUI Property Damage, Careless Driving, No Proof of Insurance, and No Registration.
