Florida family finds surprise visitor in pool

BOCA RATON, Fla. - A South Florida family found a visitor swimming around in the pool at their home early Monday: An 8-foot alligator. 

The gator was sitting at the bottom of the pool in Boca Raton.

The family tells WPTV they live near a canal, which is likely where the alligator came from. 

Trappers were called in and they safely took the reptile away.
