Florida man uses Molotov Cocktail, sword to ‘make a point’ about disrespecting a family member: Police
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - A Florida man wound up behind bars after police say he pulled out a Molotov Cocktail and a sword and threatened someone he felt disrespected a relative.
Police in Cape Coral said they found the victim outside his home shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday while they were investigating a disturbance near the 2800 block of SE 8th Ave.
The victim said Luis Vargas Izquierdo threatened him while holding a glass bottle with a cloth wrapped around its top, claiming it was a Molotov Cocktail.

He added that Vargas Izquierdo threatened to throw it at one of the vehicles in the driveway and light it on fire, according to CCPD.

Police said Vargas Izquierdo also pulled out a sword and tapped the windshield of a vehicle while threatening the victim.
The incident was captured on video by a Ring doorbell camera.

Officers said Vargas Izquierdo, who was found near his home, claimed he went to the victim’s home to send a message about disrespect to a family member.
The investigation confirmed that Vargas Izquierdo brought a glass bottle containing a small amount of gasoline to create a Molotov cocktail and brandished a sword during the incident "to make a point."
He was charged with arson-firebomb, which is a third-degree felony.
