TAMPA (FOX 13) - Teens in Hillsborough County got some free driving lessons Saturday, all in the name of keeping them and others on the road safer.
Some high school and college students spent time Saturday learning about the principles of defensive driving, DUI awareness, and some hands-on skills, like what to do if a tire should blow out.
Car crashes are the leading cause of death for people ages 15 to 20 in the U.S.
That’s why the sheriff's office wanted to make teaching safe driving a priority.
Saturday’s course was free. They happen four times a year. The next session will be in December.
