FWC officer's handgun stolen from truck console
NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - Pasco County deputies are searching for a suspect seen on surveillance video stealing a Florida Fish and Wildlife officer's weapon out of a vehicle parked in his driveway.
Deputies said the green Ford Ranger was left unlocked and parked in the officer's driveway in New Port Richey.
The video shows the suspect opening up the driver's side door and rummaging through the vehicle. The suspect stole the .380 handgun from the center console of the vehicle, which was the officer's personal vehicle, parked next to a marked agency vehicle.
The gun was the officer's personal handgun and he will not be disciplined.
