Gibsonton man dies after crash on US-41: FHP

GIBSONTON, Fla. - A Gibsonton man is dead after a crash late Saturday night at the intersection of US-41 and Shirley Ave., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP says the victim was heading eastbound in his Chrysler Concorde before crossing into the path of a southbound Mazda CX-5, driven by a 57-year-old Tampa man.

The three Mazda passengers were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries. The driver was also treated for minor injuries. FHP says the Gibsonton man died at the scene.

FHP is still investigating the crash.
