Hillsborough deputies searching for drivers involved in deadly hit-and run crash on Big Bend Road
RIVERVIEW, Fla. - The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is still looking for two vehicles that may have been involved in a fatal crash on Big Bend Road near US Highway 301 on Tuesday.
Deputies say they responded to the intersection of Big Bend Road and Mercadier Lane around 5 a.m. after witnesses say a woman got hit by possibly several cars.
According to officials, they tried to save the woman who had severe injuries after walking her bike across the street and getting hit. However, she died at the scene.
Deputies say they saw a yellow Camaro stopped just west of the woman who was on the north shoulder of the road.
One driver remained at the scene and is cooperating according to investigators.
HCSO is still looking for vehicles that may have been involved in a fatal Riverview crash.
Detectives say they are working to identify and locate other drivers who may have been involved.
HCSO is now asking the public for help finding two vehicles that were seen in the area after the crash.
"We are committed to finding answers and bringing justice to those involved," said Sheriff Chad Chronister in a news release. "I urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information about the vehicles of interest to come forward and help us piece together what happened. Your assistance is crucial in helping us provide closure to the victim's family."
Witnesses say that they saw a silver or white lifted F150 pickup truck that was coming north on US Highway 301 and headed west on Big Bend Road after the crash.
Deputies say there was a yellow Camaro stopped near the victim and one driver is cooperating with the investigation.
Witnesses also say they saw a dark-colored SUV that was headed west on Big Bend Road. They are unsure of where the SUV was coming from before the crash.

Detectives say that the truck and SUV may have visible damages to the front bumpers and undercarriage.
