Hillsborough County cold weather shelters open Saturday night

Several cold weather shelters are opening in Hillsborough County on Saturday night with temperatures expected to drop to around 40 degrees overnight.

All shelters will take people from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. unless they fill up.

Residents are encouraged to use friends or family as their first option with limited spots available.

The following shelters are for adults only.

Hillsborough County shelters

  • Church of God of Prophecy Hyde Park: 107 S. Oregon Ave., Tampa, Fla. 33606
  • Hyde Park United Methodist Church: 500 W. Platt St., Tampa, Fla. 33606
  • Tampa Bay Mission of Hope: 212 S. St. Cloud Ave. Building A, Valrico, Fla. 33594
  • Amazing Love Ministries: 3304 E. Columbus Dr., Tampa, FL 33605

For families with children, a limited number of single-night motel vouchers are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
