Howard Frankland reopens after gravel spill
TAMPA (FOX 13) - A gravel truck dumped its load across the Howard Frankland Bridge this afternoon, causing a traffic mess heading into Tampa.
The Florida Department of Transportation says the gravel was scattered across all lanes of northbound Interstate 275 on the Pinellas side. Several Tampa-bound lanes were closed while crews swept up the mess.
Traffic was backed up well into Pinellas County.
All lanes had reopened by 3:15 p.m.
A Florida Highway Patrol spokesman said it was not clear what truck had left the mess behind.
