I-75 reopens after deadly dump truck crash
TAMPA, Fla. (FOX 13) - At least one person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash Monday on Interstate 75 northeast of Tampa.
It is unclear as to what exactly led to the crash.
The view from SkyFOX showed a dump truck toppled over onto at least one vehicle. Four other vehicles appear to be victims of a chain reaction crash. It happened in a construction zone right next to Tampa Executive Airport.
We do not yet know how the victim died or what vehicle they were in.
Hillsborough County deputies and Florida Highway Patrol troopers closed all southbound lanes, from Fowler Ave. to I-4, for hours while the crash was investigated and cleaned up.
Rain was in the area at the time of the crash, but it wasn't clear what, if any, role that may have played.
No other details were immediately available.
