Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston was among the volunteers handing out hot meals Friday to hurricane victims in St. Pete.

Many of whom said they were thankful for the food and the feeling of hope, after a long week.

”Being here it restores a lot of faith,” said Peter Delio who walked from Pinellas Park.

More than a hundred families showed up. Winston was happy to take pictures and meet with them.

“It shows me the community is looking out for us and the city and letting us know there is help and there is hope,” said Delores Greene.

Computers were also set up inside 6090 Central Avenue so residents could go online and sign up for FEMA assistance.

Organizer Lewis Stephens Jr. said he sees Tampa Bay as a community that stands strong together.

“My grandfather always said is after the storm the sun will come back out and what I’ve been able to see is the sun out with people uniting,” he said.

Duke Energy expects to have power back to all of Pinellas County by midnight on Friday.
