Man who hurt grandmother, rammed deputy in court
Logan Williams, who is accused of injuring his grandmother and then ramming his car into a Hillsborough County deputy's vehicle, learned how much bond he would need to get out of jail and received choice words from Judge Lyann Goudie. FOX 13's Mark Wilson reports more on the story.
TAMPA, Fla. - The man accused of injuring his grandmother, then ramming his car into a Hillsborough County deputy's vehicle was granted bond by a Tampa judge on Wednesday, but not before the judge had some tough words for him in court.
The backstory:
Last Friday, investigators said Logan Williams left a lot of damage behind along Williams Road in Tampa.

A Hillsborough County deputy's cruiser was damaged last Friday when investigators say Logan Williams rammed into it.
New court documents show they were responding to the home after Williams cut his 87-year-old grandmother during an argument. When someone intervened, they said he punched the second victim.
After the argument and after deputies arrived, investigators said Williams took off. When a cruiser blocked his way, they said he hit it.
What's New:
On Wednesday, a judge commented on the case during a pre-trial detention hearing.

"They are in fear of the defendant and wanted me to relay that to your honor," said Smith.
In court, prosecutors argued for a high bond because of the attempted murder on a law enforcement charge.
"The facts in this case, not only trying to flee when ordered to stop but trying to prevent law enforcement from apprehending him, there’s a concern he wouldn’t appear in court," Smith said.

Williams’ attorney, Mitch Feller, disagreed, "We would object to the amount by the state due to Mr. Williams's financial situation. He’s unemployed, and the bond requested would basically be no bond for Mr. Williams."
Feller added, "The facts alleged in this are more indicative of recklessness and not depraved."

But Goudie fired back.

Judge Lyann Goudie had strong words in court for Logan Williams on Wednesday.
"If these facts are true and accurate found by a jury, an appellate court won’t find someone in broad daylight, seen by law enforcement trying to secure the arrest, fleeing into a car, which is a dangerous instrument," Goudie said. "At a high rate of speed at a marked patrol car that’s blocking an exit and crashing into the driver’s side of the door where there’s a law enforcement officer, if that doesn’t qualify for depraved mind, I don’t know what does."
Ultimately, the judge issued a $250,000 bond on the attempted murder of a law enforcement officer charge and a $200,000 bond for the attempted murder with an aggravated weapon charge.
