15-year-old who escaped custody after being charged in another teen's murder to be held in jail
TAMPA, Fla. - The 15-year-old who escaped custody after he was charged with murdering another teenager in Tampa, was ordered by a judge to be held in jail until the start of his trial.
A judge granted prosecutors' motion for pretrial detention in Jahmir Moore's case.

"He'll be housed in Hillsborough County jail, so he will not have an opportunity or the ability to escape because we need to keep the community safe," said Hillsborough County State Attorney Suzy Lopez.

Moore was arrested earlier this month and charged with shooting and killing Jevario Buie, 14, in April.
Tampa Police released a security video in May that shows Jevario, Moore, and a third person walking near Busch Boulevard minutes before the shooting.
Four days after his arrest, Moore escaped the state-run Hillsborough Juvenile Detention Center.

The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice is investigating how Moore escaped but has not responded to a request for comment.

Police caught Moore almost 11 hours after he got away.
"That's absolutely terrifying that someone who is alleged to have killed someone in cold blood was able to escape, and he was out on the run," said Lopez. "It took 231 days from the date that Jevario was killed to the date of Mr. Moore's arrest. TPD worked tirelessly to get justice for Jevario's family, and we've gotten a little bit more justice for them today."
Prosecutors plan to try Moore as an adult.
