Pinellas County bicyclist was seriously hurt after getting hit by a car on Monday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the bicyclist, a 51-year-old Largo woman, was taken to an area hospital after a Miami Gardens woman, 21, hit her while trying to merge lanes while driving westbound on Ulmerton Road around 2:45 p.m. on December 23.

The Miami Gardens woman, who the FHP says was driving a Nissan Versa, did not suffer injuries, nor did her passenger, a 59-year-old woman also from Largo.

While FHP said the bicyclist suffered serious injuries, they did not provide the final status of her injuries.
